Salem witch trials

The Salem witch trials was terrifying and unpredictable. It seemed hopeless to explain to people that I was not a witch. They were throwing ridicules questions and false accusation. They ask “Are you a witch?” “No.” I said. They ask again “Are you a witch?” I replied “No.” Then, they stop asking and start accusing me of being a witch. “Why don’t you confess to being a witch?” they said. In vain, they tried to sway me into telling them that I am a witch. They threw me into jail when they couldn’t decide what to do with me. So they chain me up to wait until morning. After the first day of questioning, they have nearly convinced me that I am a witch. After a sleepless night, they started debating on how to figure out if I am a witch. Several of the other accused witches were gather up and placed into a line to be tried. When it became my turn to be judged, my friends tried to convince the people whom decided our fates of how kind, just, and caring we are. They also stated how preposterous it was to think of us as witches. Most of the people in the village know that just about all of the people being tried were innocent ; however they do not want to take that chance. Guilty! We are sentenced to be hang today. We stand on the gallows waiting to be hung. As we wait somebody repeats “Our Father, which art in heaven. . .” He speaks each phrase perfectly, and the crowd marvels in shock. No witch or wizard could say the Lord's prayer. He hangs as do the rest of us. As I choke to death I keep my faith as I go into the light.

Dangers of Bulling

Guns have a big affect on society today. They are used to wound and kill innocent bystanders. In the book "Shooter", students were forced to talk about a school shooting they experienced a year earlier. The violence they talked about reminded me of the Columbine school incident. The attackers had anger issues against other students and their parents. In the book the students talked about practicing shooting guns at bags but they never considered shooting human beings. It surprised them that a fellow classmate would shoot another classmate. This book helped me to realize the affects bulling can have on some students.
